Comment: "It seems to me that Mr Korty's new paintings have been 'datamoshed' through some sort of lossy compression algorithm. Indeed, over the years Mr Korty's evolving compositions have given in to compression and flatness and looking at them now I am reminded how compression reorganises the context, time and space of information and introduces certain artifacts that materialise the inherent character of the medium. Pushing the digital analogy further, I see pixelating, checkerboarding and macroblocking and perhaps, just perhaps, Mr Korty's paintings are a sort of a critique of today's perfect world of digital communication, a world of instant gratification." - Raj
