Exhibition Review - Hannah Perry:'Mercury Retrograde' Seventeen, London till 5th Dec 2015.
Perry helps me remember
so that I might forget. - Drenched Co
Comment: "Ms. Perry mines patchworks of our personal and shared visual symbols and problematises them with her collaging, sampling techniques. She seeks to undo the stabilising function of cultural traditions through which we retrieve our sameness, thus making us reconsider our mortality. E.g. Art history for Perry, as it is for many younger artists today, in my opinion, is of scant relevance. In short, Perry's art tells me the only way to establish a meaningful relationship with history is to forget it." - FaSa
